Step-by-step, real-time voice commands which are paced to your actions with an audible metronome and CPR guidance assist the responder. Whilst treating an infant or child, simply insert the optional infant/child key and the FRx will adjust the therapy and instructions accordingly.

Designed to work where you need it

The Philips HeartStart FRx AED is lightweight, rugged, and reliable and withstands rough handling, extreme temperatures, and dusty and wet surfaces. It is designed for use in harsh settings and can withstand up to 500 kg (1,100 lbs) and drops from 1.2 m (4 ft).

Easy as 1-2-3

The Quick Shock feature allows the FRx to deliver a shock in 8 seconds after performing CPR. Studies show that minimizing the time to shock after performing CPR can improve survival rates. (1) Press the green On/Off button to activate a voice instruction with visual icons. (2) Place the pads on the patient. (3) Press the orange Shock button when advised.

Simplified Maintenance

The pre-connected SMART Pads II can be used on both adults and minors. Once installed and activated the FRx is simple to maintain. It conducts a series of automatic self-tests, daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure pad readiness with verified functionality and calibration of systems and circuits. It has a life span of up to four years between battery replacements.

Voice Instructions

  • If the responder is quicker, the AED will follow.

  • If the responder is slower, the AED will wait, rephrase and repeat instructions.

  • AEDs which are given a red cross "play back" instructions, like a tape recorder at a constant speed, irrespective of the pace of the responder.
